I have read an amazing book called Taming Tessa by Jenny Alexander. It is a fiction about how to tame a bad-tempered teenager.

This book is about Tessa, a teenager who is noisy, messy and bad-tempered. Tessa always plays her music loudly. Her room is always untidy. She leaves her things all over the house. She also refuses to do anything around the house, or does it very loudly. So, her brother Ben always finds it quite difficult living with Tessa. If anyone asks her to do anything, she will shout above the noise, “Why should I?”

Tessa continues her bad behaviour daily until her grandmother, Little G comes to visit them. Little G shrugs and shakes her head after seeing the mess Tessa has left. Ben explains that he tries to tame Tessa like taming Fatcat but it doesn’t work. Grandmother gives him a suggestion, “Find out what Tessa really likes,” she says.

Then, Ben finds Tessa likes Mick by accident. Ben uses this as a tool to tame Tessa to tidy up the things. “If you see Mick, what will you say?” Tessa asks. “I’ll tell him you’re noisy, messy and untidy and you leave dirty cups and socks all over the house. I’ll tell him if anyone asks you to tidy, you snap their heads off,” Ben says. From that day on, Tessa becomes responsible and tidy.

In my opinion, this book was amazing. The plot was great and there were many unpredictable scenes. In the story, there was a surprising turning point. I was surprised to see Grandmother helped Ben solve the problem. I have learnt a valuable lesson. From this story. In our daily lives, we need to be responsible for our belongings. We also need to be patient to our family members and friends. We even need to realise our weaknesses or mistakes and introspect them.

My favourite character was Grandmother. She was clever and smart. She tried to face the music and solve the problem. If I were Grandmother, I would teach Tessa a lesson. I would like to recommend this interesting book to my sister since she could learn to be patient to me at home.
