Long time ago, a pretty young lady, Cinderella, whose father loved her very much but her mother died. He wanted her to have a new mother but the woman he married was bad. She had two daughters and they were much worse than their mother. They treated Cinderella like their maid. Cinderella cooked and cleaned for them but they teased her and made her sleep with the mice in the attic.

        One day, it was the prince's birthday. He held a birthday party in his castle. All young ladies in the town were invited. Cinderella wanted to go so much but her stepmother did not allow.

        Instead, poor Cinderella had to rush upstairs and downstairs to help the two sisters to fix their hair, put on their expensive dresses and arrange their jewels. They wanted to make themselves look beautiful in front of the prince. They were very excited but Cinderella was sad. Cinderella's mean sisters who did not want to let Cinderella go to the party made her work all day.

        As soon as they left, Cinderella met Katy who was the prince's friends. She saw Cinderella when she was going to the party.

        Cinderella asked, "Who can help me? I can't go to the prince's party because my sisters make me work all day."

        Katy heard and let her servant help to do the work. She gave some lovely dresses to Cinderella to put on and took her to the party. Cinderella felt grateful.

        Katy said angrily, "Your mother is so mean! Let's go! I'll ask my servant to help you to do the work."

        When Cinderella and Katy arrived at the party, everyone looked at them.

        "Who's the lady next to Katy?" the prince thought.

        Katy introduced Cinderella to the prince. The prince fell in love with her at first sight.

        "The prince asked Cinderella, "Will you marry me? You're the most beautiful lady in them party."

        Cinderella nodded her head and sat close to the prince. All of a sudden, Cinderella's mother saw them. She felt cross. She picked up a slice of birthday cake and threw it at them. Luckily, a guard was walking to the prince while the cake was flying towards them. He shouted, "Who threw this piece of cake to me?"

        Everyone looked at Cinderella's mother. She whispered, "Oh no! I'm so sorry. So sorry… my… prince…"

        The prince said to the guard, "Catch her!"

        The guards caught Cinderella's mother and put her in the dungeon.

        In the end, Cinderella and the prince lived together happily.
