The Tortoise and the Hare
4A Regan Lee

Once upon a time, in the forest, there were some animals. Hare and Tortoise were among them. Hare was prouder than Tortoise. Hare was the proudest animal in the forest. Tortoise was kinder than Hare. Tortoise was the kindest animal in the forest. Hare wanted to have a race with Tortoise again. Hare was excited to see Tortoise losing the race.

In the afternoon, the race started. Pig waved the flag. Hare ran very fast but Tortoise was slow. 'Hah, you are very slow. I am going to win the race!' Hare said proudly.

In the evening, Hare saw the finishing line but there was a river. Hare couldn't go to the other side of the river because Hare couldn't swim. Hare thought, 'I can build a bridge using stones.' When Hare threw a stone into the river, the stone came with a head, arms and feet. It was Tortoise!

A few minutes later, Tortoise swam across the river and reached the finishing line. 'I won!' Tortoise said happily. And Tortoise decided to help Hare. Tortoise swam over and pulled Hare to the finishing line. 'Thank you, Hare. You're helpful!' said Hare. 'You're welcome!' Tortoise answered. At last, Hare and Tortoise became friends.
