This year, all Primary Five and Six students are invited to join the study tour to Cambridge during summer. We have different opinions on this. Some of us think that joining the study tour is good for us and it can bring positive effects. On the other hand, some of us do not think that joining the study tour is good. Should we join the summer study tour?

Firstly, we can gain more knowledge if we join the study tour. Through the life in England, we may improve our English skills. We will have a lot of chances to talk to the local people. There are lots of opportunities to practise our speaking skills. We may also learn more about the local culture and authentic English.

Secondly, we can learn to be independent when we join the summer study tour. We have to take care of ourselves such as waking up by ourselves and washing our clothes on our own. We may face different problems in the study tour. We can learn to overcome the difficulties and solve the problems without other people’s help. We need to manage our money better when we are not at home. We can learn to think carefully before we buy things.

However, joining the study tour will cost a lot of money. It is very expensive and it may cause our parents a lot of money. Not all families can afford the expensive fee of the study tour, we can buy clothes and presents or delicious food with the fee of the study tour.

In my opinion, although joining the study tour is expensive, it can broaden our exposure. It is easier for us to bridge the gap to secondary school. It can be an unforgettable memory before we leave primary school. Therefore, we should join the summer study tour.
