How to became healthy

Three years ago, I was a fat boy. I was as fat as a hippo. My tummy was as big as a watermelon. I was the heaviest boy in my class. I was 140cm tall but I weighed 50 kg. My P.E. teacher, Miss Chan, told me that I was overweight. She asked me to do more exercises and sleep earlier. Every day, I skipped, jogged, played basketball and went to bed earlier. Four months later, I could not lose any pounds.

Miss Chan asked me about my eating habit. I had a lot of unhealthy food every day. I had a packet of chocolate biscuits and a can of cola for breakfast. At lunchtime, I had four slices of pizza. For dinner, I had a bowl of instant noodles and three boxes of spicy chicken wings. I had a mango pudding every night. As a result, I had a sore throat very often because of my eating habit.

My father was worried. He took me to Doctor Wong’s clinic. Doctor Wong is a nutritionist and she is the best nutritionist in Hong Kong. She changed my diet. She explained the importance of having a balanced diet to me patiently. I should have a slice of bread and a glass of milk for breakfast. For lunch, I should have some rice, a little meat and plenty of vegetables. For dinner, I should have a bowl of rice with fish, some vegetables such as broccoli and mushrooms as well as some fruit. I followed the meal plan. I kept on doing exercises. One year later, I became fitter and I could run faster.

Last year, I got a gold medal in the 100-metre race on Sports Day! I didn’t have sore throat anymore, I was delighted with that. My voice became more beautiful and I entered the singing competition. I even became the Health Ambassador at school last year. I felt contented and I was on cloud nine! I hope other students can be as healthy as me too!
