'My New Story of 'Cinderella'
5B Jessica Ng

Long time ago in a village, Cinderella’s mother died when she was about two years old. She lived with her father in a little house. Her father loved her very much so he married another woman who had two daughters. They treated Cinderella like a servant when Cinderella’s dad went to work.

A birthday party was held for the prince in the palace. The prince invited all young girls in town to go to his party. Cinderella’s stepsisters were excited and dressed like beautiful and kind girls. Cinderella wanted to go to the prince’s palace but her stepmother did not let her go. She said, “You must finish your work. You cannot go to the prince’s party!” Cinderella burst into tears. She cried sadly.

A tiny rat with a dirty and rusty old lamp came to Cinderella. She used a clean towel to clean the lamp until it became glossy. A gigantic genie popped out of the lamp suddenly and gave Cinderella three wishes! She was wondering if she was dreaming. She was excited to make her first wish. She uttered, “I want to have a beautiful dress and a pair of golden slippers.” Then, she was in her beautiful dress and a pair of golden glass slippers. “How about the second wish?” the genie asked. She made the second wish immediately and shouted, “I want to go to the prince’s birthday party!” Then, she appeared in the palace. The prince fell in love with her. They danced together all night. All of the girls in the palace were jealous of her. They wanted to dance with the prince too!

Cinderella went home after the party. She missed the prince very much and could not stop thinking of him. The, she took out the lamp and rubbed it again to make the final third wish. She whispered, “I want to marry the prince and live with him happily!” The next day, the prince sent a servant to invite her to the palace and asked her to marry him. Finally, they got married and lived happily ever after. Cinderella was delighted and excited but her stepmother’s and stepsisters’ face turned red with anger.
