The Best Sports Day
4B Sophie So

Last Saturday was our Sports Day. It was sunny and cold. At half past nine early in the morning, teachers, students and parents went to Aberdeen Sports Ground. I went there by bus. There were many sports events on that day like rope skipping, long jump, 100-metre race and cheerleading competition. I felt really nervous and excited. I wanted to win a gold medal.

First, it was 100-metre race. Vivian and I joined the same event. Vivian is my best friend. She is nine years old. We are in the same class. She likes singing and playing the piano. She is taller and stronger than me. I thought she would win the race. In the beginning, Vivian was slow. I was fast but at last I was the slowest runner. Vivian was the fastest runner so she was delighted. I was disappointed. She comforted me.

Next, I saw my friends, Mary and Amy. Mary and Amy joined rope skipping. Mary is ten years old. Amy is eight years old. They are different ages. Mary likes doing crafts. Amy likes swimming. They like the same subject. It is English. Mary is good at drawing. Amy is good at playing the violin. When the competition started, Amy skpped faster than Mary. Then, Mary pushed Amy. Amy fell on the ground. She got hurt. She felt very painful. Her parents took her to the hospital. Mary felt sorry and she was disqualified.

Finally, it was cheerleading competition. P.5B won this event. They were surprised and happy. Sally also broke the record in the long jump. I didn’t have any medals but I was glad. I have learnt that friendship should come before competitions. We had a fantastic and wonderful day.
