Once upon a time, there lived a dog and his mother in the forest. One sunny day, the dog went out to look for something to eat for their mother. He met a farmer while he was walking home. He waved goodbye to the farmer. The farmer praised him and gave him a piece of meat. ‘I’m so lucky! The meat looks yummy!’ the dog thought happily. He held the meat tightly in his mouth and ran as fast as a plane.

On the way home, the dog headed to cross a bridge. As he walked along the bridge, he looked down into the river and saw a shadow. The dog thought that there was another dog in the river with a piece of juicy meat. He said, ‘Let me beat him up and snatch the meat from him. ’

Then the dog opened his mouth and barked, ‘Woof! Woof! ’ He saw something dropped into the river. It was his own meat. ‘I have lost my meat because of my greed,’ cried the dog. He was very upset.

The dog was very hungry but he had nothing for dinner. Finally, he went home and told his mother what had happened in the forest. The dog felt guilty. But it was too late. He promised his mother that he would not be that greedy again!
