My Terrific Chinese New Year

Chinese New Year is the most important festival for Chinese. It usually lasts for fifteen days.

My family and I bought some candies to prepare for the candy box. We also bought some Chinese New Year decorations for the festival. We even did the spring cleaning a few days before Chinese New Year. Mum made paper lanterns by herself. Dad prepared the red packets.

We felt delighted for the Chinese traditional food. We prepared turnip cake, new year’s pudding, nuts and red melon seeds. We bought some new clothes, shoes and presents before Chinese New Year. My uncle, aunt and grandmother came for the family reunion dinner on New Year’s Eve. It was held in my home. We had basin food but I liked eating fish most.

I have visited the annual fair before and I also visited it with my family this year. We bought peach blossoms and narcissus in the annual fair. The peach blossoms and narcissus smelt nice. I liked them.

On New Year’s Day, we wished one another “Kung Hei Fat Choy”. They gave me some red packets. We watched 2013 International Chinese New Year Night Parade. The show was terrific.

Our relatives in mainland China came to Hong Kong on the first day of Chinese New Year. We led them to go to Ocean Park to have a wonderful time. They enjoyed themselves very much.
