My Chinese New Year

          Chinese New Year falls on 10th February this year. It is the year of the snake. The weather is usually warm and sunny. I wake up early on New Year's Day. When I meet my parents in the morning, I greet them with "Happy New Year". They give me red packets. I have turnip cake for breakfast. They are delicious. I enjoy my breakfast.

          We visit my grandparents and cousins in the afternoon. I chat with my grandparents and play with my cousins. I eat some New Year's food. I have some vegetables, mushrooms and turnip cake. After lunch, we eat some sweet dumplings in soup. I eat a lot because they are healthy and delicious.

          Chinese New Year is a special festival. I watch a fireworks display in a hotel. I watch lion and dragon dances during the holiday. There is a lot of fun. I get a lot of lucky money. I buy some accessories for my sister and mother. I spend two hundred and fifty dollars. I donate some money for the poor, too. I keep most. I enjoy the New Year holiday. It is fun.
